More about postpartum services

So you want me to be your postpartum doula….

How to start:

Contact me! Send me a message letting me know that you’d like to work together. The more details you include (listed below), the better. If you’re not sure about something, that’s ok! At this time we will set up a consultation to go over all of the details and make sure I’m the right fit for you!

  • When are you due?/ How old is baby?
  • When would you like care to start?
  • How often would you like care? How many days a week? How many hours a day?
  • How long would you like care for? How many weeks?
  • Would you like daytime or nighttime care?
  • What city are you located?
  • What would ideal care look like for you?
  • Is there anything special I should know?
Now that we’ve chatted, what comes next?

I’ll send you a contract to get care started! This contract secures the agreed upon care dates and rates, defines our rights and responsibilities as members of the agreement, and goes over all of the little details pertaining to my services that are important for you to know! At this time, your retainer will also need to be paid. Once I receive the signed contract and the retainer, care can officially start!

We’re ready to start care!

It’s time for the first visit! The purpose of this visit is for me to get to know you, your family, and your environment; and for you to get comfortable with me being in your space. These meetings usually last about 1 hour. If you’re still pregnant at the time of booking, this visit will take place before baby arrives. These initial meetings are included in your contract, and won’t be counted toward your overall billed hours. During this meeting would also be a great time to discuss what your needs might be during your scheduled care. If you’re not sure, here’s some of the services that I can provide as your postpartum doula:

  • Mental/emotional support: being a listening ear, shoulder to cry on, encouraging friend
  • Physical support during recovery: helping you move around, assisting with maintaining personal hygiene/care
  • Baby care: bathing, feeding, changing, soothing
  • Light household assistance: laundry, vacuuming, dishes, tidying
  • Sleep support: handling the nighttime wakings with baby while you sleep, caring for baby during the day so that you can nap/rest
  • Breastfeeding support: latch issues, pumping
  • Educational support: providing resources and knowledge for everything postpartum and baby
Let the care comence!

All the nitty gritty is out of the way! Care is now in full swing. I am so excited to be your postpartum doula!
