What are your qualifications?
I have completed the education portion of the Postpartum Doula Certification course through Birth Arts International. I am just 15 working hours away from receiving my certification.
What is the difference between hiring a doula or hiring a babysitter?
While a babysitter can be a great option for families, a doula is trained and educated in things like newborn care, postpartum mood disorders, and lactation. A doula’s mission is to provide support to nurture the mother, baby, and family, which can look very different from the support a babysitter provides. I’m breastfeeding. Can I still get overnight care?
Definitely! Care looks different for each family and doesn’t always include feeding support, even if the goal is to get more rest. I am happy to care for the baby in other ways, up until the moment they are ready to eat. I am there to support you in whatever way you need during the time that you are nursing as well. We can work together to make sure you’re getting exactly what you need!
How far do you travel?
I am willing to travel up to 50 miles from Fort Lee, VA!
Can I request a mix of day and night care?
Absolutely! Care schedule is based on what YOU need!
I have multiples! Can you still offer care?
Yes! I would love to support you in this unique situation!
Do I have to schedule services with you before I give birth?
Not at all! Many clients prefer meeting and scheduling before they give birth so that care can start immediately postpartum. However, care can start at any time!
Are you comfortable changing cloth diapers?
Yes! I used cloth diapers with my own children, and can help with any troubleshooting of fit and washing.
How long can I receive care for?
As long as you need, provided I have the availability! People need care when they need care. There is no cutoff for me when it comes to how long I’ll support you!
